This is a profound mystery

This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. - Ephesians 5:32

Now I am not going to try and take this verse out of context to fit what I am going to say next as the verse is, in context, speaking about how the Church and Christ will become one flesh like when 2 people get married. But on my Google Personalised homepage, I have a variety of gadget thingy’s telling how many emails I got etc, and some Fundy techie had written a bible verse of the day thing, so I put it on the page, its always in KJV (Verse above in NIV) but I always glance over at it, so I havent taken it off.

When I saw this verse on its own I thought, Christ and the Church ARE a profound mystery, and theorising and analysing how to do Church effectively are correct and helpful, but Christ LOVE’s the Church, which truly is a mystery when we view it with our elitist eyes and so easily dismiss many Church’s ways of doing Christianity as distorted. Christ calls US to love the church as well, but how much do we love, and how much do we seek to bring correction.

I know that people who I love, I have been too quick to bring correction, when really what they needed was some love, Im going to try and keep that in mind when looking at different ways of doing Church.
