Firstly, its got to be said, While I love my iBook I seem to be bound to windows, my desktop is till a big ole windoze thing I built before I left home for Uni, and at work of course windoze is the office favourite. If you want to read the useful part of this post scrool to the last paragraph!
With the release of Vista, does the mac have a competitor which will compete on its design platform? Though I havent seen even a screen shot of vista, its hard to imagine that. While I dont think Vista will bring the resurgence of the windows machine to a scale that could eclipse the mac, Its also hard to imagine a world where people leave the familiarity and comfort of Windows (with its freezing and crashing) for the aesthetic Eden which is OSX.
That all being said, if like me, your bound to windows machines, and fill the task bar with dozens of prgrams and a couple of terminal session screens, it can become a little overwhelming, and in a surge of order requiring adrenaline you click the X on ten screens to bring it back down to a manageable size, then you realise you closed the thing you really need, but yesterday I found a solution to the order of my windows workflow, to organise your desktop and to view multiple screens at once:
hold down ctrl while left clicking all the programs in the task bar, then right click and select tile vertically/horizontally, and you suddenly have some order to your workflow. Thats the idea anyway.
Thanks to Gordon Mclean for that
