…and I always though me and Fidel would be best of buds!
I live in a tiny village in North East Scotland, and I want a chain store, that to me a few years ago was an immoral desire.
Unlike Babara Curtis, I am fustrated with small business’ ignorance to do things and do things well and still expect custom. Certainly Barbara’s coffee house experience is definatly not my experience of the situation, I would, like her, love to support local business owners, and fully believe in supporting your local economy in that way, but the only two shops in our town seriously suck. Neither takes cards, and for someone who never has cash that is an endless annoyance, both have small over-priced lines which are often out of date or smell a bit!
Big Stores do customer service so well too, I will at least find one reasonable employee there who acknoledges my consumer buying power and will take me to the aisle to find what Im looking for. In contrast my experience of local shop owners in the village are that they are dis-interested, un-apologetic and believe they have a divine right to your custom.
Well heres a stake in the ground, that where ever the corporate giant out does the little guy, and the little guy doesnt do the job well then long live the corporate Giant…there I said it!

Welcome to the sty mate. I’ve always called myself a capitalist pig and proud of it. :)
I grew up in Romania under Communism and now live in the States, and I take Capitalism with all its faults over Communism or Socialism any day, any time!
