This morning I took my car into a local body repair, hoping to get a quote and crossing my fingers for the best….The guy asked me first, "Is this going through your Insurance", I said "No, my Insurance excess if £750 because its my first year driving and I cant see it being much more than that", he replied with a knowing chucle, "You think" Clearly intimating he thought the repairs would be more.
"THAT Sucks", I thought as I drove away to return this weekend for a full quote, I really cant stand financial stress, but normally relativise it fairly well. The reality is that the money I’ll have to fork out on this has some serious implications for the student debt I was hoping to get rid of in the next couple of months.
As all these things were going through my head as I was driving my limping car (its really not all that bad, you dont even notice its had a crash until you look at the outside of it) to work, I was listening to some old soul survivor album and the song "Anthem of the Free" came on.
As I was listening to it, I was worshiping and was thinking, I am free from financial worry, and I dont mean that in some unhealthy, put it off til later, escapists way, I just mean that for worry to overtake me isn’t the clear picture of who I am, I am liberated from being the sum of my financial life, to live as someone who is liberated by Christ and looking to the one who is everlasting, and has everlasting love for me…….and you!

Well done. I always think that a certain amount of stress is healthy, it makes us operate efficiently. However getting too stressed is of no use. I mean, your two options are…
1. Have your bills to pay.
2. Have your bills to pay and be stressed.
I know what works for me. ;-)

Nice blog Liam. Isn’t it wonderful to truly know Christ, and live in the fact that he will provide all our need?
