Better than forcing a post for today I thought I would give you a quick round up of the things that have attracted my attention today.
- Firstly my great friend John is off to San Francisco, to spend a couple of week with his girlfriend Jenni. Like the hardcore on the cheap, 20-something traveller he is, he travelled up to Gatwick (london) last night because of a cheap ticket and slept on a solid concrete floor in blinding light for all of around 4 hours, I spoke to him just before he boarded his flight, and hopefully he is sleeping away crossing the Atlantic right now. He’s also looking out for some jobs as he plans to move their long term from mid July. Anyone with a job in either aerospace or the ministry in the Bay Area get in contact!
- Speaking of San Francisco, Google Maps has just released "street view" which currently is working in 4 cities in the US, and
reportedly took Google workers a year to do the limited areas of San Francisco. Although very impressive (you’ll have to check it out if you dont believe me) I dont think its very realistic to expect it to extend beyond a few cities due to the massive amount of work it would take.
-
Sony have released their proto-type "paper thin" screen based on OLED technology, they plan to make TV’s from it, but currently ityts only 11" ’s!
- Ive also been interested in Lomography, medium format photography, as it seems to give really cool results as you can see in the flickr group here, Im gonna be wishlisting the very reasonably priced russian medium format cameras soon!
