Well this week has flown by, and as ever work is at un-precedented levels, Uni is about to start and I still haven’t confirmed funding!
So with that understanding I leave you with a few things I’ve been looking at this week as I am out of the office tomorrow and if previous promises to blog through the weekend are anything to go by then don’t hold your breath.
Hopefully everyone will find something of interest or amusement through the following:
- That’s just not normal - Jim Martin writes about how being self aware, and family aware can be helpful in relating to people in Church. Specifically the similarities between how Church leaders lead, and how they interact with their family, probably the most insightful posts I’ve read this week.
- Salvation: A Personal reflection - Jamie writes simply and excellently on his personal reflection amidst the often daunting language of atonement theologies, my favourite quote: "if the sum total of our faith is getting people to say the sinners prayer or ask Jesus into their hearts, we miss the fullness of what God intends for us. These salvation experiences should be to our faith what a wedding is to our marriage, a holy, inaugural encounter with God’s grace."
- Deezer - apprently like pandora but on steroids according the lifehacker (which I am too lazy to link) but seeing as I have no speakers at work I can only go by what they say, I will definatly be checking it out though!
- Bacn - Its not SPAM, its BACON, emails that are not personal but are cc’d to you or broadly to you etc, whatever it ism I get a heap of it
- Creative Couches - Couch made out of a mouse mat, thats probably the comfiest of the selection.
- A few quiz’s - dont pretend like you dont have the time!
- Bourne Supremacy - Easily the best film I’ve seen in the last 6 months (not saying much) it’s full of testosterone packed running and shooting, and here are a couple of good reviews of the movie.
- Facebook - The latest craze to hit the social networking scene is perfectly satirized by Dave Walker at Cartoon Church
- the Second Channel Tunnel - A link from Ireland to Scotland?!
- Get a free postcard - sent anywhere in the world for free!
- John Piper and Steve Jobs see eye to eye - not so much, but "desiring God" does commend job’s comments to graduates.
- John’s adventure into being discipleship - My very best of friends John is blogging his adventures as he works for YWAM training to staff a disciplship course with YWAM
