Turns out there were <i> #sidebar ul, #sidebar ul ol { padding: 0 10px; } </i> and <i> #sidebar ul ul li, #sidebar ul ol li { margin: 2px 0 0; background: url(images/os_sidearrow.gif) 0 3px no-repeat; padding: 0 0 0 14px; } </i> lines in my stylesheet. commenting out the padding lines thus <i> #sidebar ul, #sidebar ul ol { /*padding: 0 10px;*/ } </i> and <i> #sidebar ul ul li, #sidebar ul ol li { margin: 2px 0 0; background: url(images/os_sidearrow.gif) 0 3px no-repeat; /*padding: 0 0 0 14px;*/ } </i> sorted it out loverly. I did spend a while trying to fix it then thought, bollox to it, if they want to use a non compliant browser then that's the price they pay! (not that i'm anti-ie but it does need tweaking) btk looks fine to me on FF on XPProSP2
