Off to Glasgow on a whim

December 31st, 2007 · 1 Comment

After deciding with some friends that we would definatly NOT be trapped at some crap Church New Years event (no offence to those who run good ones!) and being way too late for Edinburghs famous hogmanay, we booked a nice 4 star apartment in central Glasgow, withouts tickets to the main even we’ll be barrier hopping or equivalent.

Leslie and I are in work today, so Kim and Rachel are off buying some supplies and are picking us up in the only car that is big enough to fit us all in, Justin and Kims E reg Nissan Bluebird, or as I like to call the the "DeLorian", I joked that Id wear a balaclava to which Kim remarked (its not cold), I think she missed my point….one which Justin is all too aware of when he remarked "at least we’ll be driving in the dark". Joking aside the thing is a BEAST and reminds me of the genious of Johnny Gillespies old sunny.

Before I say goodbye to the blog for 2007 I thought in my characteristic "Errr I dont have much to say so heres some links to stuff I like" I would leave you with some things to check out:

- JonnyBaker, unlike us, was enjoying the fog in London before Christmas and taking some cool pictures

- Speaking of photos, Flickr have a Best of 2007 thing and these are some picks, I especially like the top two.

- Dave Gorman is still loving Flickr and has a set of cool looking 3 part polaroid portraits

- The ever brilliant Stephen Fry’s technology column (copied on his blog here) convinced me to brighten up my firefox experience with themes and Extensions and I can officially say Im sold, so for anyone who’s interested Im now running: Firefox theme Phoenicity

And the following Extensions: Delicious sidebar, Download StatusBar, Video Download Helper, FasterFox, FireFTP, Gmail Notifier, Google Preview, Meebo, PDF Downloader, Tab Catalog, Tab Effects

HAPPY NEW YEAR
