End of Week roundup

February 1st, 2008 · No Comments

As you can tell I have had somewhat of a hectic week and attempt (through various technological means) to blog some of it. Norway was fun but hard work in many aspects and so now I am looking forward to relaxing over the weekend. Im going to see Cloverfield tonight with my ole flatmate Fraser which should be good, we are both avid Lost fans (same director Abrams for this film) and "super psyched" the get geekily enthralled with it.

Ive also tidied up my blackberry flickr uploads into a Norway Set which you can check out here

As I have a few posts in the mix but am rushed off my feet trying to do the follow up from Norway visits and all the new contracts I secured (yay me!) Ill leave you with some of the things Ive been reading.

- The internet has certainly moved on from 1996 when huge corporations had websites as bad as this. HT: MJ Rogers

- Doodle the gospel for UCCF HT: Dave@Cartoon Church

- Out of Ur is mentioning the God Strategy which details the use of religious imagery and alignment as political capital specifically within the US political system which is getting so much coverage.

- Paste top 100 Albums for 2007 is a good source for new albums to get into in 2008! HT: Scott Prather

- A Very cool and pointless tool allows you (if you have a domain name) to check which other websites are stored on the same server system as you by Reverse IP Domain Check HT: Geek and Mild

- This is amazing, visualizing every cross reference in the bible here

- Kingdom People has some nice clean fun with Church Bulletin misprints

- Dan Wilt has posted an excellent piece on the disadvantages of being right-sided when it comes to the brain

"Perhaps the debt we owe the culture is that it will no longer allow us to paint God according to the pragmatic categories of impoverished or pragmatic religiosity, but rather according to our most stunning discoveries as human beings."

- Phyllis Tickle gives a good introduction on the divine hours or liturgy of the hours.

- Piper lists 9 ways to love your muslim neighbour and reminds us: "When I say that love calls us to do good in practical ways that meet physical needs I do not mean that this help is offered contingent on Muslim’s becoming Christians. Practical love is a witness to the love of Christ. Witness is not withheld where it is needed most. Conversions coerced by force or finances contradicts the very nature of saving faith. Saving faith is a free embrace of Jesus as our Savior, Lord, and highest Treasure"

- Seeing as Im only about 100 miles from TSK in Orkney we are also getting Force 11 winds (110ish mph) and snow, I am going to the cinema tonight and Fraser will be driving down and back, pray for him in his alertness.

- Finally, I discovered that I am indeed a Christian Feminist…read here!
