Google stuff and battling with PHP

I have been getting fustrated with my non-existent understanding of PHP/CSS codes which result in me trying to get stuff done in a trial and error method. For the last couple of days I have been fighting away, reading forums, sending emails to try and get an amazon wishlist plugin imported, which looks pretty neat but is proving near impossible for a wordpress layman to get to work.

On the the positive side though I have managed to integrate my shared items from google into a clip on the right sidebar (its there underneath the flickr photos) it seems to be a bit cumbersome and slows the loading down a bit but I have always preferred linking to posts like this instead of the more static blogroll system (which is still there underneath the google reader clip). I am also glad that google offered a format-free version of the clip instead of the ugly colour scheme ready versions I was forced to use on my blogger account, and that my template didn’t take a fit over it and played nice!

Another piece of Google magic I integrated was My Calendar, I can’t speak highly enough of google calendar, it lets me integrate all my work calendar files from outlook (which are show as busy but with the detail ommitted) my personal calendar (which is really mostly church stuff, Im not really much for keeping a schedule) and financial (which tracks all my DD’s and SO’s that is not included in the public version!). Google also has a range of public calendars which you can overlay your own calendar with, the ones I have used are a standard liturgical calendar, UK Holidays, UK Movie releases and Local Weather.

I have also expanded the contact me page which has been renamed feeds and email (still at the same address though) which used to be just a form to email me to the hub of all things good, namely the directory for the rss feeds, signing up for the blog by email, and don’t worry you can still send me an email through that page too.

Enjoy
