Well, many of you who went to download firefox 3 might have been as perplexed as me when you continued to see firefox 2 being advertised 4 hours after the expected release date, well after clearing my browser history data I asked google and it turns out that mozilla weren’t too smart when they decided to go for guiness world record as it gave themone almioghty spike on their data servers. All is resolved so were told and I have now managed to download Firefox 3.
Some very brief first impressions from me are:
- Very Slick look syncs in with the OS you are using. Click here for the example.
- Much Faster, on my meagre iBook G4, RAM hungry firefox 2 was sluggish, firefox 3 is noticably quicker and smoother.
- Great additions such is the smart bookmarks.
- One of the first things I have done is to switch the browser default when it click mailto links to launch gmail, pretty neat, check it out here.

Not sure if they made the world record, they had a lot of server downtime problems.
