As my wife can testify I have an uncommonly strange feeling of affection towards British personality Stephen Fry, not of course in the way in which he has affection for other men, but in the way in which Apple users have affection for apple products. Broadly speaking Stephen Fry could appear on the very worst TV Show or Radio program and for me it would be transferred into the category of unmissable. The reason is that Stephen Fry seems to encapsulate the very rare and winning (in my opinion) combination of wit, comedy, intellectual knowledge, eloquence, technological zeal, to put it simply, if there was one person in the World who I could choose that I could go to the pub with on a Friday evening it would be Stephen Fry.
All of that embarrassingly over-played gushing is to say that Stephen Fry Blog is one of the best in depth technology review sites on the web right now, for the combination of all the qualities I listed above, phrases such as:
“Watching someone writing an email on a (Blackberry) Storm is like watching an antelope trying to open a packet of cigarettes.” – Gee, One Bold Storm coming up, Stephen Fry
That being said, the only reservation for those of you, like me, who’s Internet manner is far more likely to be reading 3 pages at once, require at least some discipline to read Stephen Fry’s blog due to the fact that Fry is more used to writing novels than blogs. But as the page loads and the scroll bar on the right hand side shrinks relating to the length of prose facing you, don’t shrink away from the task because Stephen Fry writes for the technological proletariat, that is he writes in a way that is easy to read, and has superb insights on the evolution of technology markets.
