1000th Post

February 26th, 2009 · 1 Comment

I’ve been taking an un- announced (even to myself) break from blogging for the last few weeks, but have been working hard and travelling so that makes up for it.

The extension of this break has also been created because this is the 1000th post I’ve ever written! I thought the occasion required some form of celebration and only now have I had time to construct one.

The Story

I started Blogging in October 2004 at http://byrnesy.blogspot.com to be honest I cringe at the english, the content, and opinions of most of my early blogging, but as they saying goes, you have to start somewhere and I am encouraged that my ability to write has improved somewhat after almost 5 years of blogging.  It started out mostly as a way to keep friends up to date with my happenings as I had moved 600-odd miles to University. In November 2006 I moved over to wordpress and have blogging in my multi-personality (technology and theology mostly) mode ever since.

The Charts

I couldn’t do a 1000th post without some hopelessly narcissistic stats for you. The most read posts in order are as follows:

1.Please Pray for Todd Bentley

2. Learning Language and why the french wont speak english to you

3. MacBook vs. Macbook Pro

4. Internationally roaming with an iPhone

5. Republican vs. Democrats – The issues in Political Alignment

6. Should Women fight on the front lines?..

7. Start of the week from the End of Week Round Up

8. New iTunes App Store: Guitar Toolkit

9. Oliver Foot well remembered

10. Electric Guitar Series: The Arcade Fire

I also thought I would link some of the best referrers, that is, the sites which send most incoming traffic here, Thanks guys:

1. Stumble Upon, a lot of the round up series posts get a lot of stumble upon action, so thanks for stumbling them.

2. God Hungry, Oft Quoted on this blog, and amongst many other excellent things the blog that lead me to the excellent wordpress blog host theobloggers.

3. Premier Guitar Magazine linked to my post on Guitar iPhone apps which continues to send a good stream of traffic here.

4. Janice at Babbles Cafe has also been a long-term blogroller for which I am thankful.

5. Trevin Wax runs the excellent blog Kingdom People and was kind enough to be interviewed in my blog series on finances in mission in the 21st Century.

The Future

The Future (coming soon) – Ive got some thoughts on where the blog is going, and how blogging in general is going to change, but that is for another time, soon though.

Those who are horrified at this wholly narcissistic blogging event can be assured normal blogging activities will return shortly.
